Homes For Heroes is a nonprofit organization reaching out to hard-working emergency services personnel and their families, who have suddenly found themselves facing emergency expenses that they have no way to afford on their own. Most people living paycheck to paycheck earned just over the amount to qualify for any type of conventional assistance. This means they can't receive the help they need to overcome a short term crisis until they've already lost everything.

Due to the devastating hurricanes which have hit parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, the full force of enormous agencies like the American Red Cross and FEMA are now focused squarely on the disaster areas themselves. Thanks to these tremendous resources, relief is finally starting to arrive in the hardest hit areas and the people who did not have the means to escape them. All the same, there were many thousands of Emergency services personnel and their families, that were not able to leave New Orleans, Gulfport, Biloxi and other cities devastated by the recent hurricanes. They have lost, in most cases all their belongings, homes, etc. They are living in motels, apartments and friends homes, sometimes two or three families per residence.

Homes For Heroes was created to offer financial assistance to those individuals who have dedicated their lives to serve and protect each and every one of us. Homes For Heroes believes that there will be precious little direct assistance available to these personnel from larger, more conventional agencies. Our financial assistance could be as little as restocking the kitchen pantry, replacement clothing, medical or housing expenses.
